Andy Reid Sent ‘Warning’ To Every Chiefs Player

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid sent a clear “warning” to every player on the roster heading into the 2025 season.
The Chiefs had a disappointing finish to an otherwise outstanding 2024 season. Kansas City was going for a three-peat, but it fell short against Philadelphia in Super Bowl 59. The Chiefs fell to the Eagles, 40-22, at the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
But the Chiefs are pledging to go for it again in 2025. Kansas City is hoping to be more explosive on offense, too.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid sent a clear warning to his players about that idea.
Reid warned his players to make sure their hamstrings are ready. The Chiefs are planning on throwing a lot of deep balls.
In an interview with Kay Adams’ show, “Up & Adams,” the speedy second-year wideout Xavier Worthy explained what his head coach said.
“Coach [Andy] Reid told us during OTAs, Phase I, ‘When you come back, get your hamstrings ready,’” Worthy said. “So, he kind of knew that we were going to be going a little deep in practice, so we kind of got our bodies and our minds ready [for] what we were going to be doing in practice.”
Travis Kelce is among those Chiefs players who returned for another shot at a title in 2025-26.
“I think the biggest thing is that I f—— love playing the game of football,” he said of his decision to return. “I love playing. I still feel like I can play it at a high level and possibly at a higher level than I did last year. I don’t think it was my best outing. I think I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I helped them, especially if you look at my track record and how I’ve been in years past. I want to give it a good run. I got a bad taste in my mouth in how I ended last year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was to the people around me.
“I love so many people in Kansas City, both in that facility, in the community, and it’s home for me now. I don’t want to leave that life yet. I put in a lot of hard work and I put in a lot of focus into being the best that I can for K.C. Last year it didn’t end well for us. I just feel like there’s a responsibility in me to play out the contract that I initially signed, to give Kansas City and the Chiefs organization everything that I’ve got, and that’s what I’m going to do, man.”
The Chiefs and their offense, meanwhile, will look to be more explosive in 2025.
