The Chicago Sky lost 91-78 to the Minnesota Lynx at home on Monday, but it wasn’t Angel Reese’s fault. The star forward led the team with 22 points (9-14 FG, 0-1 3 PT) and 10 rebounds over 37 minutes. She also added three assists and one block.  The Sky had two other players score in double digits, while the Lynx had four in total. The latter squad was led by MVP favorite Napheesa Collier, who tallied 29 points (7-14 FG, 4-7 3 PT) with three rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block over 36 minutes.  Reese’s fans were upset with Chicago head coach Tyler Marsh during and after the game on social media.

“Tyler Marsh gotta tell this team to run the offense through Angel Reese. Why do we keep going away from her after strong starts?” one fan asked.  “Tyler Marsh still not understanding we need to play through Angel consistently throughout the full 40 minutes,” another said.  “Tyler Marsh, if you know any better, let Angel take control in that 4th quarter like it’s the only way,” another said.  “Tyler Marsh literally is losing us the game because he’s not doing anything that worked last game,” another said.  “Tyler Marsh is the most annoying in the third quarter. Why is Angel not bringing the ball up???” another said.

The Sky are now 7-14, tied with the Los Angeles Sparks for the WNBA’s 10th seed. They’re 4-5 at home, 3-9 away, and 1-8 against conference opponents. They also have a -6.9 average point differential.  Chicago guard Ariel Atkins (leg) exited during Monday’s game and didn’t return.
