Angel Reese is set to take part in the second All-Star Game, but her appearance is uncertain due to a leg injury suffered in the Chicago Sky’s recent loss to the Minnesota Lynx  Angel Reese took to social media to celebrate the decision to have GloRilla perform the halftime show at the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game.

The Chicago Sky are back on another difficult run of form. Having lost to the Minnesota Lynx on Monday, the Sky slipped to a sixth loss in 10 games as their offense floundered yet again in a 86-49 defeat to the Atlanta Dream.  Reese didn’t play on Wednesday in what is the Sky’s final game before the All-Star break because of a leg injury. The forward sat on the bench against the Dream ahead of her second All-Star Game appearance this weekend in Indianapolis.

Reese, who had 22 points and 10 rebounds for her ninth straight double-double in the loss to Minnesota, is enjoying a fine season. She leads the WNBA with 12.6 rebounds per game, and her offensive output has steadily increased following a torrid start.  Ahead of her second All-Star appearance, Reese took to social media to express her pleasure with rapper GloRilla being confirmed as the 2025 All-Star Game halftime show performer. Reese simply posted: “thank yaaaaaa.”  Reese’s presence in the All-Star Game is up in the air following her injury. But Lynx head coach Tyler Marsh described Reese’s absence as “precautionary.“  “I think she should be OK, but I’m not sure,” Marsh said. “She’s taking it day by day. She’s feeling better today.”

Reeese has been in solid form following a tough start to the season. Her stellar performances in Week 6 of the 2025 WNBA season earned her the Eastern Conference Player of the Week award, highlighting her exceptional play with the Sky.  During this period, Reese averaged 19.7 points, 17.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, showcasing her all-around ability to impact both sides of the floor. It was a much-needed reprieve for the forward.  While the Sky have struggled in 2025, Reese has emerged as a consistent standout performer. Her hustle, motor, and dominance on the glass is a trait that cannot be taught, and she has the tools to become the greatest rebounder in league history amid her impressive start to life in the WNBA.

Reese’s impact also extends beyond traditional statistics. She has set a WNBA record by becoming the fastest player to reach both 600 points and 600 rebounds in a season. Additionally, she recorded four consecutive games with 15 or more rebounds, a feat previously unmatched in league history.  Reese will be in action for Team Collier against Team Clark in the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game on Sat., July 19. Following the All-Star break, the 7-15 Sky are next in action against the 20-4 Lynx on Tuesday, July 22.
