Jason Kelce makes final NFL unretirement decision after being urged by brother Travis
JASON Kelce insists he has no desire to come out of retirement – despite being urged to by his brother Travis. The siblings discussed the topic of returning to the NFL on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast.
It came up when they spoke about Philip Rivers coming out of retirement at the age of 44 to play for the Indianapolis Colts until the end of the season. Travis asked, “What other retired player should get back out there? “I mean, I know a guy still trying to prove his athleticism and trying to dunk.”

However, Jason quickly shut him down and said, “Travis, I can’t bend my elbow right now. I got a loose body. “I can’t even touch my head right now because I got a loose body stuck in my f****** elbow joint.”
Loose bodies can occur in the elbow joint when small pieces of bone or cartilage break off and float freely. Travis continued, “Well, go and get that s*** cleaned out, Jason!”
However, the former Philadelphia Eagles center hit back and said, “I’m trying to avoid surgery, Travis!
“There’s not a rehab! There’s just a piece of cartilage that’s floating around in there, and it’s stuck in my joint. “I usually, I can find it and then, like, push it out of the joint and it goes back to being fine. I can’t do it right now.
“It’s stuck somewhere. I don’t know if it’s in the back or in the front, but it isn’t leaving.” Jason called time on his career in March 2024 and is now focussing on media work.
He regularly appears on ESPN and has his own show titled ‘They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce’. Meanwhile, fans believe Travis could bid farewell to the NFL after his latest setback.
The Kansas City Chiefs were eliminated from playoff contention at the weekend following a 16-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.
