Angel Reese’s mom asks men to stop messaging her for date with Chicago Sky star: ‘I’m getting some crazy dating requests’

Angel Reese has a unique problem when it comes to her daughter, LSU women’s basketball star … Angel Reese.  The Reese matriarch on Monday tweeted a public service announcement to would-be suitors to her daughter: Make sure you’re actually sending the message to the person for whom it is intended. Apparently, several men have reached out to the LSU star’s mother asking her for a date, unknowingly sending the message to the wrong person.

Angel Reese the basketball player goes by the Twitter handle @Reese10Angel. Her mom goes by the handle @awebbreese. That clearly has created enough confusion that Reese (the mom) has been mistaken for her daughter, as she noted on Twitter:

The younger Reese has become a standout in more ways than one at LSU. ESPN’s former No. 2 overall prospect in the 2020 class transferred to Baton Rouge after two seasons at Maryland. In her first season with the Lady Tigers, she has averaged 23.2 points and 15.7 rebounds per game.

She also notched 13 points and 18 in LSU’s Elite Eight win over Miami on Sunday, not only setting up a Final Four meeting with Virginia Tech but also giving her an SEC-record 32nd double-double this season.

Reese also goes by the name “Bayou Barbie,” with her mother and NIL representative Jeanine Ogbonnaya starting the process for trademarking the name in early February.

Regardless, Reese shares more than a name with her mother. She also wears No. 10, the same number her mom wore when she played basketball. That’s also why the younger Reese features the number in her Twitter profile:

Considering all the similarities between mother and daughter, it would behoove any potential suitors to make sure they’re actually sending private messages to the correct Angel Reese.
