The Spanish royal family was back together to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the proclamation of King Felipe. Infanta Sofia, who began her studies in Wales last year, and Princess Leonor were out with their dad and mom, Queen Letizia, on Wednesday to commemorate the occasion.

During a lunch at the Royal Palace in Madrid, the Spanish Princesses went to the mic to share some loving words for their parents. “Mom, dad, Your Majesties,” Leonor, 18, began (translated to English). “Sorry for sneaking in, but we also have something to say today.”

Sofia, 17, chimed in: “Thank you for joining us to remember that in these 10 years, we have learned from our parents what the commitment that the four of us have with all Spaniards means.”

Leonor then continued: “Now, I would like you to join us in a toast to our mother and father, to our Kings, because since we were born, we have been taught the value of this institution, of the Crown, its usefulness to our society and its purpose of serving all.”

Sofia concluded their remarks saying, “Mom, dad, thank you.”

In his own speech on the tenth anniversary of his accession to the throne, Felipe spoke about his daughters’ support. His Majesty said (translated to English): “Likewise, we – the Queen and I – have had the growing support of our daughters, and we want this to be a special anniversary for them too. Together with the young people of their generation, they have begun to live and understand – with a necessary critical spirit and eagerness to learn – the realities of our collective life and the complex dynamics of the world.”

Felipe became the King of Spain on June 19, 2014 following the abdication of his father, Juan Carlos I.
