Two games, two wins! Things have started quite well for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2024 season. After a 27-20 win against the Ravens, the Chiefs have kept that tempo going with a narrow 26-25 win against the Bengals on September 15 (Sunday). Patrick Mahomes‘ 44-yard touchdown pass was surely a key moment in the Chiefs’ win. The star QB though admitted that the play was quite risky and could have cost the Chiefs the game.

In the post-game interview, Mahomes praised the young WR Rashee Rice for his match-winning performance against the Bengals, especially during the prior mentioned play. The 28-year-old football star said, “As our scores were leveled I saw Rashee, I knew he was going to be contested but you got to put the ball up. Rashee did great in trying to get the job done. I haven’t seen the replay. I saw he was there pretty early and we got flagged. But we got to give guys chances in those situations.”

In the same post-game interview, Mahomes also talked about his growth as a captain over the years. He said, “I always want to go for it….I want the offense to be high-flying and explosive.” As the Chiefs rejoiced in their win, the Bengals faced a disheartening loss. Per Burrow, “It’s frustrating as hell.” He reflected on the shortcomings of their end in the game.

Overall, the Chiefs’ QB also lauded the team’s defense for contributing to some special plays in the Bengals game and mentioned he is looking forward to winning more such games against top opponents. Meanwhile, Rashee Rice also gave his two cents about the game against Cincinnati.

Rashee Rice reflects on beating Bengals in Week 2

Chiefs’ Rashee Rice talked about beating the Bengals after the Chiefs’ latest 26-25 win on September 15 (Sunday). The game was fierce with both teams giving everything they had. Talking about the game, Rice said, “Like I said we’re focused on ourselves, we don’t really care what anybody else says. You know, when you talk you have to show up and play for the talk. So as long as you are focused on the Chiefs, it’s all that matters”

Rice’s 44-yard touchdown from Patrick Mahomes’ pinpoint pass in the second quarter turned out to be a decisive moment for the team. Rice played an important role for the Chiefs. Marquise Brown is already ruled out of the regular season with a shoulder injury. Andy Reid will now surely look at Rice for being the team’s no. 1 WR as they move deeper into the season.
