Angel Reese sends out cryptic subtweet about ‘snakes in the grass’
Social media platform X is once again home to a confusing post by a celebrity today. Angel Reese, currently recovering from a season-ending wrist injury, took to X to share a couple of mystifying tweets, one of them is about snakes in her life. We might assume that they weren’t actual snakes but rather Reese calling someone over a betrayal. But it surely left the Reese’s pieces wondering.
First, the Sky No. 5 shared, “grass low snakes show…” While we may not know who exactly she is referring to, it is certain that there is a new story brewing up in the ‘Windy City.’ But if that wasn’t enough to raise the eyebrows of her followers, ‘The Chi-Town Barbie’ again took to her X account to tweet, “when they show you who they are the first time, BELIEVE THEM!”
It’s unclear who it is at the moment because so far the Sky rookie has not been seen in major public feuds with anyone. Well, there is the enmity with Caitlin Clark but both speak of each other with respect and betrayal cannot really happen between two apparent ‘rivals’. However, she does have many contacts who may or may not have wronged the Baltimore-born.

Nevertheless, Reese’s statements have caused an upheaval among fans.
Amid friendship breakup rumors, Angel Reese’s ambiguous X post leaves fans perplexed
Angel Reese is known for her outspoken nature but that’s not to say she’s not above confusing fans with her words. Many would say that the 22-year-old is used to the spotlight and makes good use of it. Her latest posts prove it! Reese has been going through something like a friend break-up with former LSU teammate Flau’jae Johnson since she graduated. Both Johnson and Reese have stated that they’re not as close as they used to be. But although they say that they remain supporters, might the Sky rookie’s post have to do with that?
One fan couldn’t help but ask just what the cryptic tweets were about. They commented, “Girl what happenedddd???😭”
More confused fans asked, “Who snitched?” while one proclaimed, “Angel speaking in parables”. If indeed it has something to do with Johnson, then their relationship has deteriorated fast from what it was at the beginning of the year. In her very first “Unapologetically Angel” podcast in September, Reese said, “I still support Flau’jae. We aren’t as close as we used to be. And there’s no hard feelings or anything, but we aren’t as close as we used to be.”
When the incident with their mothers occurred over Reese’s grades, both athletes decided to move on in good faith. But the end of the year might not be so optimistic. And yet, it’s not the first time the Sky forward has dropped a puzzling X post. It has also happened when Caitlin Clark has been concerned.
Understandably, one fan wrote on Reese’s post, “I dont understand.” Another just wanted to know, “Omg what’s tea“. When CC had won the Rookie of the Year award, Angel Reese winning one out of the 67 votes angered a large part of the W fanbase. If Clark had won all 67 votes, she would have been the 5th unanimous ROTY.
But afterward, the Chicago star tweeted, “i really just be minding my business cause it’s a lot to mind😉” Whether or not it was aimed at Clark is anyone’s guess. Reese did deserve a place in the ROTY voting because it was a historic season for her as well. Nevertheless, it was clear that Clark would be the favorite to win after the Olympics break.
Interestingly, when the Fever had lost to the Sun in game 2 of round 1 of the playoffs, Reese had written on X, “i’m sick to my stomach💔” In a way, it could be perceived as support for Clark’s team, whose first postseason appearance in 8 years was not ending well.
While these are the two major incidents that come to mind when Reese refers to a ‘snake’ in the midst of people she trusts, it could be anyone in her circle. Maybe that’s why some fans suggested she keep her circle small!
