Eagles’ Jalen Hurts throws perfect 45-yard TD pass to DeVonta Smith
A week after getting all but shut out on the stat sheet, Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith made his presence felt in a big way against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. He put the Eagles up 24-17 late in the third quarter with a 45-yard touchdown grab in the back of the end zone.

On second-and-8, quarterback Jalen Hurts dropped back and tossed one deep to Smith, who was one-on-one with safety Jordan Battle. Smith secured it with an over-the-shoulder grab. Smith managed just one catch for minus-2 yards in a 28-3 win over the New York Giants last week. The coaching staff made sure to get him more involved against Cincinnati, as he posted four catches for 69 yards and a score by third quarter’s end.
The TD pass had a completion probability of 21.6%, according to NFL Next Gen Stats, the least likely TD pass for Hurts so far this season. It’s the fifth-least likely TD of Hurts’ career with three of those going to Smith.
