Amid $50M+ Rumors, Brittany Mahomes Unveils Window Into Patrick Mahomes’ Family With Adorable Moment

Baby giggles filled Kansas City homes as Brittany Mahomes shared a heartwarming glimpse into the Mahomes household.  While KC‘s star quarterback leads an undefeated streak in Vegas, Brittany Mahomes captured a slice of their world at home. Her latest Instagram story showcases son Bronze Mahomes’ “Bedtime Ritual,” rolling and cooing – a stark contrast to his dad’s touchdown passes.

This family snapshot lands right as the Mahomes power couple eyes their next big play. ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke news on October 30 that Patrick Mahomes and Brittany, already fixtures in Kansas City sports ownership, met with WNBA officials. Their goal? Bringing women’s pro basketball to KC, amid reports of expansion fees potentially hitting $75 million per team.

The timing sparkles with symmetry. Just two days earlier, Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 27-20 victory over the Raiders, keeping his perfect 7-0 record at Allegiant Stadium. Brittany celebrated this milestone on Instagram, sharing moments with their daughter Sterling who, as she put it, “only has good memories of Vegas, and loves this place.”

Their ownership portfolio already tells a story of deep KC roots. Since 2020, when Patrick Mahomes bought into the Royals, he’s made his intentions clear. “I love this city and the people of this great town,” he declared then. “This opportunity allows me to deepen my roots in this community.” That commitment grew with stakes in Sporting KC and the KC Current.

Now, they’re stepping into a WNBA landscape that’s hitting new heights. According to Sportico’s June 2024 report, the average WNBA franchise value sits at $96 million. The Las Vegas Aces top the charts at $140 million, showing the league’s growing muscle. More than half of this season’s games have sold out, painting a bright picture for potential expansion.

The competition for new WNBA franchises runs hot. The Mahomes join bidders from eight other cities, including Austin, Charlotte, and Philadelphia. The league’s previous expansion round set a $50 million entry fee for Bay Area and Toronto teams. Now, Sportico reports that number could jump to $75 million as the WNBA aims for 16 teams by 2028.

Money talks in this league. The average WNBA franchise generates $13.2 million in revenue, with the Aces pulling in $17.8 million in 2023. These numbers back the league’s ambitious expansion plans and steep entry fees.  And while Bronze rolls through his bedtime routine and Sterling celebrates Dad’s Vegas victories, the Mahomes family keeps building. Their bid for a WNBA team could write the next chapter in KC sports history. As Brittany shared in her recent carousel post celebrating the Raiders game win, wearing matching red outfits with Sterling: “Undefeated in Vegas… let’s goooooooo.”
