After a historic 205-yard rushing performance in Sunday’s snowy NFC Divisional victory over the Los Angeles Rams, Saquon Barkley kept his postgame message to Philadelphia fans as succinct as his decisive fourth-quarter touchdown.  “KEEP GOING,” Barkley posted on X Monday morning, following the Eagles’ hard-fought 28-22 win at Lincoln Financial Field.  The victory secured their spot in the NFC Championship Game, bringing the franchise one step closer to its second Super Bowl appearance in three seasons.

Barkley, who signed a three-year deal with the Eagles after leaving the Giants in the offseason, delivered in a game that epitomized playoff football. With the Eagles clinging to a slim six-point lead late in the fourth quarter, Barkley broke free for a game-sealing 78-yard touchdown, leaving a trail of Rams defenders grasping at air on the snow-covered turf.  “The atmosphere was crazy. It was insane,” Barkley said after the game, his grin as wide as the Linc’s end zone. “This is what you dream about. This is why I came to Philly. I wanted to be part of games like this, and I’m just happy to be a part of it.”

Barkley’s breakout performance continued what has been a career-defining first season in Philadelphia. After rushing for 2,005 yards during the regular season, cementing himself as a legitimate MVP candidate, the former Giant has already amassed an impressive 324 rushing yards in just two playoff games.  It’s a stark contrast to his tenure in New York, where postseason opportunities were scarce. Across six seasons with the Giants, Barkley appeared in only two playoff games, gaining just 162 total yards. Now, he’s one win away from reaching the Super Bowl for the first time in his career.

That final hurdle comes against the Washington Commanders, who will visit Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on FOX. The Eagles split their regular-season series with their NFC East rivals, including a 36-33 loss in Week 16, in which quarterback Jalen Hurts exited early with a concussion.  With Barkley’s recent performances and his clear hunger for more, the Commanders’ defense will face a monumental challenge. As the Eagles prepare to host their first NFC Championship Game since 2022, one thing is certain: Saquon Barkley – with his 2-word plan – is more than ready for the moment.
