Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has become a household name after leading the Kansas City Chiefs to three Super Bowl wins, including back-to-back victories in the last two seasons. He’s now on his way to try to take them to their third Lombardi Trophy in a row, something no NFL team has ever accomplished as they look to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

While he’s built this success over eight seasons in the league, his younger, lesser-known brother is looking to follow in his footsteps as he enters the 2025 NFL Draft.

Graham Walker, Mahomes’ half-brother, declares for NFL Draft

Because of his success and fame, a lot is known about Mahomes and his family. His younger brother Jackson has been in the media a few times as he is a social media influencer. But Mahomes also has a lesser-known half brother, Graham Walker.

Walker and Mahomes share the same father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., who also happens to be a former Major League Baseball player. Mahomes was raised by his father and his mother, Randi Martin, while Walker was raised by his stepfather Gerry Howatt and his mother Jessamyn Walker. He also has two other siblings, Mireille and Kayla.  “He definitely is a Mahomes,” Mahomes Sr. said of Walker. “His stepdad did a great job with him, his mom did a great job with him.”

While Mahomes grew up in Tyler, Texas and went to school in Lubbock (Texas Tech University), Walker grew up in Connecticut and played college football as a tight end at Brown University in Rhode Island. He played there for three seasons before transferring to Rice University in Houston, Texas.

In his last season at Brown, Walker caught 44 passes for 515 yards and six touchdowns. At Rice, he had just 24 catches for 252 yards and no touchdowns. In 2023, Walker won the Frederick Fritz Pollard Award and was named on the third and fourth team in the All-Ivy Phil Steele Awards. Now, Walker has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Mahomes is apparently willing to help Walker in any way he can, according to Mahomes Sr.  “He’s supportive, as he always is,” Mahomes Sr. said. “Hopefully in this offseason Patrick will get a chance to throw the ball to him, run routes, as Patrick always has his receivers come down.”

Mahomes Sr. offered his own message of support to Walker as well.  “That’s my boy. Let’s get it,” read Mahomes Sr.‘s comment to his son on his Instagram post announcing his decision to enter the Draft.
