Golden Girl Sees the Sun for the First Time: Brittany Mahomes Shares ‘First’ Baby Golden Moment Before Super Bowl 2025
The Kansas City Chiefs take on Philadelphia Eagles in their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance on Feb. 9. After taking down the Houston Texans in the divisional round and defeating gate Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs look to make NFL history with a Super Bowl thee-peat.
For Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, this playoff run was particularly special. During the team’s first-round bye, his wife, Brittany Mahomes, welcomed the couple’s third baby, a daughter named Golden Raye. “Hopefully, God works the right way and maybe we can have the baby on the bye week somewhere and then everything will work out perfectly,” Mahomes said.
Mahomes got his wish as the famous couple announced they gave birth to a healthy baby on Jan. 12, 2025. The Kansas City Current co-owners welcomed their first child, Sterling Skye, on Feb. 20, 2021. Brittany gave birth to their son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, on Nov. 28, 2022. While Sterling and Bronze are fixtures at Arrowhead Stadium throughout the season, Golden has yet to make her Chiefs game debut.
While it seems unlikely Brittany will bring their newborn to New Orleans for the big game, the 29-year-old is spending quality time with Golden before leaving home.
Brittany posted a boomerang video from her back porch and wrote, “What a beautiful day it is wow 😍. Golden girl sees the sun for the first time today 🤣.” In a second post, the new mom of three shared some insight on her sleep performance since giving birth. She wrote, “Also, ever since I have been home from having golden I have had a green recovery score (except the first night)… I’m very confused but I also am just happy to not be pregnant and tired all the time. Less sleep better recovery?? Make it make sense.”
Mahomes told reporters following Golden’s birth last month, “It’s cool to welcome another baby girl in our family and see how my other kids react to her. Having baby sissy and stuff like that—it’s been a lot of fun.” While the three-time Super Bowl MVP stated over the summer that this baby would be their last, he now seems to open to expanding their family even further. “We’ll see down the line, maybe. But my goal was always three. So, we’ve had three. And we’ll stick there for a while and see if we need to come back and get another one later on.”
