Taylor Swift is reportedly taking a step back from her friendship with Blake Lively following the actress’s involvement in ongoing legal war with Justin Baldoni after being roped into the situation by the It Ends With Us actress, leaving the pop icon “really hurt”.

The 35-year-old has chosen to remove herself from the drama, avoiding any involvement in the allegations or the subsequent fallout and is now distancing herself from both Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. Previously such a loyal friend, Swift does not appreciate being inadvertently pulled into the controversy.

Baldoni is accused of behaving inappropriately towards the 37-year-old on the set of the movie as Lively claims she sexually harassed her, yet the director fired back with a countersuit declaring he is actually the victim of an extortion campaign from the Gossip Girl alumni and her husband.

How does Swift fit into the picture? Reportedly, texts revealed in Baldoni’s countersuit are claimed to show Lively allegedly referencing her “dragons.”

While it’s unclear who exactly she was referring to, speculation suggests she may have been alluding to Reynolds and Swift who are two very powerful players within the Hollywood and celebrity scene. If true, then it’s something the Eras Tour star doesn’t seem to appreciate.

“Taylor is really hurt by this whole situation and feels like a pawn,” an insider told PageSix.com. “She’s taking a break from their friendship right now.

“Taylor wants nothing to do with this whole ordeal. She has always stood by Blake, but she doesn’t like being dragged into a situation that has nothing to do with her.”

The countersuit also included a claim that Lively hosted a meeting at her New York penthouse, during which “two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world” allegedly pressured Baldoni into making changes to a key rooftop scene in It Ends With Us.

Following the meeting, Baldoni purportedly texted Lively, stating, “I really love what you did. It really does help a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor).”

So far, neither of Baldoni or Lively’s claims have been proven in a court of law. Swift’s involvement remains unconfirmed.

Lively and Reynolds keep a strong public front

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Lively and Reynolds made a high-profile appearance at the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary special, marking their first public outing since her lawsuit against Baldoni.

However, responses were left mixed as some felt it was wiser for the pair to give the show a wide berth amid the ongoing battles.

“People believe they should have sat this one out,” one insider shared to Page Six. However, on the other hand, another source defended the couple.

“Blake was initially hesitant to attend,” a different source told Page Six. “But ultimately, she’s glad she went and had a really nice time.

“Blake and Ryan have no regrets about making an appearance. They have nothing to hide and no reason not to.”
