Video: Patrick Mahomes’ Half-Brother Announces NFL Draft Decision

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is arguably the face of the NFL. Mahomes and Co. failed to win a historic three-peat last season, but the two-time NFL MVP and three-time Super Bowl champion has a lot more football play. While the 29-year-old looks ahead to the 2025 season, his paternal half-brother, Graham Walker, looks forward to hopefully joining the league after declaring for the NFL draft in January.
The 6-foot-3, 243-pound wide receiver spent the first three seasons of his collegiate career playing wide receiver at Brown University, where he racked up 125 catches, 1,465 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns. After transferring to Rice University and volunteering to switch to tight end with the Owls, Walker registered 24 receptions for 252 yards.

During his time at Rice, he received messages of encouragement from Mahomes. “I know Patrick has been watching the games, and he’s reached out and said the good things that I’ve been doing,” Walker told Seven Days in a recent interview. “When someone who’s accomplished so much can say you’re doing well, it really feels good.” Mahomes and Walker also share the same agency, Equity Sports.
While it’s unclear where Walker will land during the NFL draft or if his name will be called, he revealed to Seven Days the he won’t be attending the event in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Instead, he announced his plan to watch from his family’s house in Vermont.

While Mahomes and Walker share the same dad, Pat Mahomes. Sr., they had very different upbringings. Mahomes grew up in Tyler, Texas and attended Texas Tech University before the Chiefs selected the quarterback at No. 10 in the 2017 NFL draft. Walker grew up in Shelburne and Hinesburg, Vermont with his mother, Jessamyn Walker, and stepfather, Gerry Howatt.
Should his name not get called, there’s still a chance Walker gets signed as an undrafted free agent or earns an invite to rookie minicamp. Cheering for his success, Mahomes Sr., who formed a relationship with the 24-year-old later in life. During his Pro Day, Walker recorded the 40-yard dash 4.82 seconds, 18 reps of 225 on the bench press, three-cone in 7.16 seconds, a 34.5-inch vertical jump, and a 114-inch broad jump.
