For the second time in the last three years, Andy Reid will coach against his former team (Philadelphia Eagles) in the Super Bowl.  Reid spent 14 seasons as the Eagles head coach before the two sides parted ways after the 2012 season. He led the Eagles to the playoffs nine times and won the NFC Championship during the 2004 season but lost Super Bowl XXXIX to the New England Patriots.

He was hired by the Chiefs heading into the 2013 season and it ended up being an outstanding decision. In 12 seasons, he’s led the Chiefs to the playoffs 11 times and has won three Super Bowls with a chance to win a fourth.

During a media session on Wednesday, Reid was asked about the job that the Eagles front office has done with building this team and confirmed that he’s a big Howie Roseman fan. Roseman is the executive vice president and general manager of the Eagles.

“I’m a Howie Roseman fan,” Reid said, via ProFootballTalk. “I think he does a great job. The way he’s replenished this football team has been something to watch, for sure.”  The Eagles have done a great job building in the trenches and getting the star playmakers in A.J. Brown and De’Vonta Smith. They were able to draft Jalen Hurts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft before signing running back Saquon Barkley this past offseason.

Barkley was the cherry on top of an already great team, and he had a historic regular season, compiling 345 carries for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Eagles will need him on his “A” game if they want to win their second Super Bowl in franchise history.  Kickoff for Super Bowl LIX will be this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on FOX. Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady will be the announcers.
