The Chicago Sky played in their fifth game in nine days on Monday, and it resulted in a tough 91-78 loss against the best team in the WNBA at the moment, the Minnesota Lynx.  Angel Reese did all she could for the Sky in this one, logging another double-double with 22 points on 9-of-14 from the field, 10 rebounds, three assists and a block in 37 minutes of play. The Sky still came up short, as the Lynx made amends for their 87-81 loss to Chicago on Saturday.

It has been a tough stretch of games for the Sky, who have won just two out of their five games in July thus far. Reese, however, has refused to use the team’s busy schedule to justify their losses.  “Suck it up and keep hooping,” Reese said of the fatigue factor, via Moreau Sports Prod Co. on X. “..I’m young…just continue to push through…there’s no excuse for me.”  “…I average 35, 36 minutes a game and I guard the best player usually…I gotta get up and not be scared. I just try and come in everyday and dominate my matchup because I know this team needs me.”

Reese cannot be faulted for her performance against the Lynx. She wasn’t perfect, but she was a force on both ends of the floor, matching up with MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier, who finished with a game-high 29 points, three rebounds, five assists, three steals, a block and four triples.  As Reese said, the Sky will need to ‘suck it up’ and move forward after another loss. They play for a second time in three nights on Wednesday against the Atlanta Dream in a home game at Wintrust Arena.
