Angel Reese is under fire for disrespectful moment with her coach on the sidelines yet she continues to break records

The Chicago Sky began the 2025 season with high hopes, fueled by a new head coach and Angel Reese entering her second year after dominating the inaugural Unrivaled League last summer. Reese has been unstoppable, setting a WNBA record with six consecutive games of 15 or more rebounds, while averaging 17.8 points since June 22. This is arguably the peak of her career so far.
But what about the team? Not so much. With a dismal 5-18 record, the Sky are near the bottom of the league, far behind Reese’s individual brilliance. The disparity between her performance and the team’s struggles appears to have pushed her frustration to the breaking point, prompting a recent outburst that has everyone talking.
Reese’s Heated Clipboard Moment Goes Viral
The moment was captured on video, as she snatched a clipboard from assistant coach Ann Crosby’s hands and slammed it to the ground, her frustration boiling over. It was a raw display of immaturity at a time when leadership was needed most. Later, Reese took to X to apologize to her coach, showing a willingness to own up to the outburst.
Those **** were pissing me off shoutout to Ann because she know it was the heat of the moment and she didn’t let me apologize because she knew! Not happening again tho♀️ https://t.co/SCqLJIPoQ6

The moment happen in the Sky’s latest nail-biter against the Washington Mystics, which ended in an 81-79 loss, Reese delivered a standout performance with 22 points and 15 rebounds, marking her 12th double-double of the season. The game was tied at 77 with about 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter when Chicago challenged a loose-ball foul call. As the team headed to the bench, tempers flared, and as you can see Reese let her emotions take over.
What’s Next for Reese and the Sky
That heated sideline moment needs to fade fast for the Sky, who face a quick turnaround with a game tonight against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings. The good news? Chicago already handed Dallas two losses back in May, but both teams have evolved since then-and neither looks like a playoff lock just yet. Making the postseason would be a bonus for either squad at this point.
She’s got next.

Off the court, Reese is racking up wins, landing the cover of the upcoming 2K WNBA Edition video game. With her 10 million followers, she’s clearly soaking up the fame, and this achievement is well-deserved. On the hardwood, the focus shifts to tonight-can Reese extend her 15+ rebound streak to seven games? Or maybe keep her double-double run alive and hit 10 straight before the All-Star break? Fans will be watching closely to see if she channels that fire into another dominant performance.
