Angel Reese Makes A Statement Ahead Of Chicago Sky Training Camp

Two days before the Chicago Sky training camp starts, Angel Reese is set to take the court again with her team. Following a remarkable rookie season that was cut short due to a wrist injury, the young forward is ready to bounce back and take her team back to the playoffs (they finished 10th with a 13-27 record).
After a discreet free agency, where their only major move was bringing back Courtney Vandersloot from the New York Liberty, the Sky waited a little longer to make moves and shape up a competitive roster.
They traded for Ariel Atkins with the Washington Mystics, sending the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 Draft to the capital team.
Once the draft arrived, they added more young talent with Ajsa Sivka, Hailey Van Lith, Maddy Westbeld, and Aicha Coulibaly.
Although they aren’t considered title contenders, the Sky have an intriguing group of players. Training camp starts on Sunday, and Reese is already hyping up her return to her team’s gym.
The former LSU star shared an Instagram story on Friday with a five-word message for her team and fans.
“Chicago, we on the way,” Reese captioned the post.
The Sky have renewed expectations after a tumultuous 2024 season. With Reese and Kamilla Cardoso helped by veterans Vandersloot and Atkins, this squad could make some noise.
After her season was cut short, Reese has unfinished business. The Unrivaled experience should help her unlock new levels of her game while helping the Sky return to the playoffs after their 2024 absence.
They will tip off the new season on Saturday, May 17, with a high-flying matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.
