Angel Reese Saddened by News on Tuesday

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is entering her second WNBA season. The former LSU standout put together a strong rookie campaign, averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds en route to All-Rookie honors. Finishing last in the Eastern Conference with a 13-27 record, Chicago revamped its roster and coaching staff this offseason. This started by replacing Teresa Weatherspoon with Tyler Marsh at the head coaching position. The Sky have since added players in both free agency and the draft, most notably reuniting Reese with her former LSU teammate Hailey Van Lith. As Reese prepares for her second professional season, the 22-year-old has remained active on social media.
With 4.8 million followers on Instagram and 688,000 more on X, Reese is often sharing her thoughts with fans. On Tuesday, the Sky star reacted sadly to the news of sitcom “Poppa’s House” being canceled by CBS after just one season.
Making her feelings clear, Reese reacted simply on X with a sad emoji.

The Deadline article Reese responded to stated, “It’s one and done for CBS‘ comedy series Poppa’s House, starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., which is not being renewed for a second season. It was CBS’ only freshman scripted series on the bubble and the only one to get canceled.” It was also reported that “Poppa’s House” was vying for one single comedy slot for CBS’s 2025-26 schedule, and it evidently was not selected. As for Reese, she and the Sky will begin their 2025 WNBA season with a matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on May 17.
