Angel Reese’s mother puts demanding conditions on her future partner while wishing he would not take advantage of her daughter
During a recent episode of Unapologetically Angel, Angel Reese’s mother Angel Webb discussed the qualities she expects in a partner-and first and foremost, he must be self-sufficient.
Webb, who raised Angel and her brother as a single mother, emphasized that she has worked hard to create a stable life-and anyone coming into that needs to match her level of independence.
“If you’re 30, 40 years old, as long as I have a roof over my head, so do you guys,” Webb said, referencing her children. “So whoever I date needs to realize that… whoever I date, they need to be self-sufficient because I’m self-sufficient.”
But self-sufficiency isn’t the only standard. Height is also a major factor. “They need to be handsome, tall-I mean, I’m six feet, I need-” Webb started, before being cut off by Reese, who asked for specifics. Her mom didn’t hesitate: “I would say like 6’2 and above, yeah.”
And that’s not all-Webb made it clear that a love for travel is essential, too. “I would like someone who has a career, someone who is flexible to travel because I like to travel. Oh yeah, if you don’t have a passport, we-we-we can’t. I’ma pass you right on by. No passport.”
Reese’s Standards are just as high
It’s no surprise that Angel Reese shares similar dating preferences. Standing at 6-foot-3, the Chicago Sky forward has never been open to dating someone shorter. When singer Coco Jones asked Reese on her podcast if she would date a short guy, her reaction was swift.
“No. No. I don’t know,” she responded. Then, as if reconsidering, she clarified, “I have not [dated guys shorter than me]. Let me just say I haven’t.” Jones tried to make the case that shorter men put in extra effort in relationships, arguing that “They have a lot to prove.”
