Bad: Eagles Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts Trashed By Backup QB

Jalen Hurts is a Super Bowl MVP for the Philadelphia Eagles. He has played his best games when the stakes are at their highest. That isn’t good enough for some television analysts. After former starting cornerback Darius Slay omitted Hurts from a top-five quarterbacks list, other former players around the league have spoken out in agreement with the Pro Bowler.
Speaking on FS1’s show “The Facility” former backup quarterback Chase Daniels made it his mission Monday to trash Philadelphia’s starting quarterback by saying he would not want to start a franchise with Hurts leading the way. “There are only four guys that I would take to start a franchise with,” Daniels said. “Quite honestly…there’s more than four guys who I would take to start a franchise with over Jalen Hurts today. Because of that, I can’t sit here and say I want to start a franchise with Jalen Hurts. He’s not in the top 9 or 10.”
Of course, we need to remember who is talking here. Daniels, despite his 13-year career, never started more than two games in the NFL during a season and was a career backup throughout his entire career. While he may understand protections and how NFL teams think in the locker room, he has never been in the situation Hurts has been.
You know, actually playing in multiple Super Bowls and even winning one as the game’s best player. So while Daniels will continue to talk poorly about Philadelphia’s franchise quaretrback, it’s best to take his opinions about Super Bowl winning quarterbacks with a grain of salt.
