Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese ROY Debate Gets Hit With ‘Silly’ Label by Dan Patrick
One of the biggest storylines in the WNBA this season has been the Rookie of the Year race between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. While Clark was widely expected to win the award coming into the year, Reese’s impressive double-double streak for the Chicago Sky has helped her enter into the ROY discussion as of late.
If you ask Dan Patrick, though, there isn’t even a discussion to be had. He labeled Clark the clear frontrunner for the award, saying that any debate between her and Reese is simply “silly.”
“This is a silly argument. Caitlin Clark is the Rookie of the Year.”

Both Clark (16.8 PPG, 7.8 APG, 5.8 RPG, 39.8 FG%) and Reese (13.5 PPG, 12 RPG, 1.8 APG, 40.2 FG%) have flashed their potential in unique ways this season, which has helped make this Rookie of the Year race so enticing.
Patrick seems to believe that Clark is outproducing Reese by a pretty wide margin, though, or else he wouldn’t have made this bold claim. Regardless of what he seems to think, it’s clear that this race is heating up, and it will be interesting to see how it unfolds down the stretch of the season.
