Cardi B Reveals She’s Pregnant, Expecting Her Third Baby After Filing for Divorce from Offset
Cardi B is going to be a mom again!
The “I Like It” rapper, 31, is pregnant and expecting her third baby, the singer confirmed on Instagram on Thursday, Aug. 1. “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!” Cardi wrote in her caption alongside a few photos of herself in a red dress, baring her belly. “Reminded me that I can have it all! You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do!”
“It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!” she concluded her post. Cardi’s pregnancy announcement comes one day after she filed for divorce from husband Offset, 32, after six years of marriage, a representative for the “Bodak Yellow” rapper confirmed to PEOPLE. “It’s not based on cheating rumors, but rather has been a long time coming,” the rep said.
The outlet reported that Cardi B, 31, is seeking primary custody of their children together, son Wave Set, 2½, and daughter Kulture Kiari, 6. The divorce filing was not publicly available at press time.
Offset is also a father to sons Jordan, 14, and Kody, 8, and daughter Kalea Marie, 9, from previous relationships. During an Instagram Live in December 2023, Cardi first confirmed that she is single but shared that she didn’t know how to break the news. “I’ve been single for a minute now,” the rapper said at the time. “But I have been afraid … Not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been, like, a sign.”
Cardi also confirmed that she had been dropping hints about the split to her followers by unfollowing Offset and posting cryptic messages on her story. “I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings,” she said.

Since December, Cardi and the Migos star have spent time together on New Year’s Eve, Offset directed her March music video for “Like What (Freestyle),” the two caught a Knicks game together in May, and that same month, Rolling Stone published an interview in which Cardi said the pair was “all right now.”
“Because we do love each other,” she said at the time, adding, “It’s not even about love. We’re best friends. And it’s like, ‘OK. Well, there was a time that I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn’t have a support system.’ It’s not even about ‘How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend?”
Elsewhere in her interview with Rolling Stone, Cardi opened up about how she’s been balancing motherhood with finishing her next album. Admitting that she was currently trying to look for a nanny at the time, the proud mom said she’d been leaning on her parents for support, but was worried about putting too much pressure on them. “I had them kids,” the mom of two told the outlet. “They came out of my p—-, not my mom’s. They mine.”
Although she noted that her husband was helping out when he could when he returned from tour, Cardi said she still felt overwhelmed. “My kids come first. My kids come before anything.” Cardi B and Offset have had an on-and-off again relationship since they got married in September 2017, often the result of his alleged infidelity. They announced they were splitting in 2018 and, after reconciling, Cardi B filed for divorce in September 2020, which they later called off.
In a 2020 interview with ELLE, Cardi addressed the couple’s tumultuous romance, saying, “I do know that my relationship has a lot of drama and everything. But there’s a lot of love there’s a lot of passion, there’s a lot of trust, there’s a big friendship.”
She added, “It’s always us against the world.” The Migos rapper has previously opened up about how grateful he is for his blended family, telling Essence in April 2022, “It’s a blessing to be able to have them all together, and to have a wife who’s open and treats them as if they’re her kids,” he shared. “It could be an issue, but I don’t have to go through that, and that’s beautiful.”
