Celine Dion fans left IN TEARS as star closes Olympics Opening Ceremony in front of Eiffel Tower with her ‘timeless’ voice after tragic battle with Stiff Person Syndrome
Celine Dion fans were left in tears as they watched her close the 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony in Paris on Friday evening. The Canadian singer, 56, who is battling the incurable stiff-person syndrome, looked incredible in a shimmering silver gown as she performed in front of the Eiffel Tower.

She gave a rendition of La Vie En Rose, which was originally sung by French music icon Edith Piaf. The opening ceremony at the 2024 Paris Olympics delivered in many ways.
And one of those was Celine Dion. Making her highly anticipated appearance at the Summer Olympics in Paris, Dion provided the cherry on top to what is being considered one of the best opening ceremonies in recent Olympic history — while officially kicking off the Paris Games.
Friday’s performance by Dion inside the Eiffel Tower — her first public appearance since announcing she is dealing with stiff-person syndrome — resulted in high emotions by viewers. Among them: Kelly Clarkson, on NBC’s opening ceremony broadcast. The country music star was notably emotional on the broadcast, calling Dion “a vocal athlete.”
It is the second time that Dion has performed during the opening ceremony at the Olympics, as she sung at the opening ceremony in Atlanta in 1996. Considering Dion has not performed in public in quite some time, on top of how beloved she is among her fans, her performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony received quite a positive reaction on social media.

For years she thought she might never perform again. For years she watched her body fail and fight against itself, stealing her voice and the control of her muscles. For years she’s been waiting for this moment.

What an image. Céline Dion, who didn’t know if she’d ever sing again, looking out over Paris (from inside the actual Eiffel Tower!) after proving she absolutely still has it. GOOSEBUMPS. #Olympics #OpeningCeremony pic.twitter.com/6E4KTTJshz
