Chicago Sky Coach Drops Blunt Take On Angel Reese Guarding A’ja Wilson
On Thursday, June 27, Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky suffered their 10th loss of the season after a 95-83 defeat against A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces. Reese faced former WNBA MVP Wilson for the first time in her career. The results favored Wilson, but Reese definitely gained valuable experience against one of the top players in the league.
Wilson led all players in scoring with 31 points on 10-of-19 shooting. She also recorded six rebounds and three assists. Reese, on the other hand, secured a WNBA rookie record ninth straight double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. After the game, Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon sat down for a postgame interview. She discussed the Wilson vs. Reese matchup and dropped a blunt take on it.
“She’s definitely about the challenge, and it’s only going to make her better because she’s willing to guard the best post player she possibly can. It’s going to make her much better down the stretch,” Weatherspoon said about Reese.
“She’s about the challenge … it’s only going to make her better.”
