Chicago Sky Star Receives Devastating Injury Update
The Chicago Sky have bounced back a bit after losing four games in a row. But, things have taken a turn for the worst as they got a discouraging injury update. Sky center Elizabeth Williams is out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a torn meniscus, per Meghan L. Hall.
The former Duke player has appeared in nine games this season for the Sky, averaging 10 points per game with 7.0 rebounds on 48 percent from the field. The emergence of Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso has been a solid spot for the Sky as the rookies have both made an impact on the floor. But losing Williams for the season will be a tough blow for the Sky.

Williams last appeared June 6 against the Washington Mystics and has not been able to play since. With Williams out for the season, Kamilla Cardoso has been filling in at center. The rookie had 16 points with 10 rebounds in the one-point win over the Indiana Fever on June 23, so it seems likely that she will get regular minutes in Williams’ absence.
