Chris Brown has been sued for $50 million by four concertgoers who claim they were assaulted backstage at his recent concert in Texas.

Brown & his entourage accused of backstage beating

The lawsuit was filed today in Harris County by Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush, and Da Marcus Powell.  The plaintiffs are also seeking a temporary restraining order against Brown and several others, including his tour promoter Live Nation, and associates Sinko Ceej, Hood Boss, and Yella Beezy.

According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred last Friday following Brown’s performance at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth as part of his 11:11 Tour.  The plaintiffs allege that they were invited backstage to meet Brown, who arrived 30 minutes later than expected.  As Bush congratulated Brown on his performance, a member of the singer’s entourage reportedly reminded Brown of a previous altercation with Bush.

Brown allegedly responded, “Oh yeah, we were. What’s up, n-a? I don’t forget shit.”  The complaint details how Brown and seven to ten members of his entourage allegedly began attacking Bush, with Hood Boss reportedly throwing a chair at Bush’s head.  The violence then escalated, with the assailants turning their attention to Parker, who attempted to escape but was cornered and beaten for over ten minutes on Brown’s instructions.

Powell and Lewis were also reportedly attacked, sustaining injuries that required medical treatment.  “No one should have to endure what these clients endured,” said the plaintiffs’ attorney Tony Buzbee.   “We will seek the maximum amount of damages allowed by law for this egregious conduct.”

Buzbee further emphasized that “This is Texas. The people here don’t care how important or famous you think you are, you have an obligation to follow the laws and conduct yourself in an appropriate way. Unprovoked violence can’t and won’t be tolerated. We intend to seek all damages that the law allows against Brown and his cohorts, to include punitive damages.”

Lawsuit demands more than $50 million in damages

The lawsuit outlines the plaintiffs’ injuries, with Parker reportedly needing extensive medical treatment for head injuries.  The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages exceeding $50 million for their physical and emotional suffering, including medical expenses and other related costs.

This incident adds to a history of legal troubles for Brown, who has faced numerous accusations of violent behavior over the years.  Notably, he accepted a plea deal in 2009 for the assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, resulting in community labor, probation, and counseling.  Brown has also been involved in altercations with other celebrities and faced accusations from former partners.  Representatives for Brown, Live Nation, and the other defendants have not responded to requests for comment.
