Travis Kelce was a shadow of his former self once again for the Kansas City Chiefs after Taylor Swift skipped her first NFL game of the season on Sunday night.  And as he struggled to make an impact in their 22-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, the Chiefs tight end cut a miserable figure on the sidelines in a clip which has gone viral on social media.

A fed-up Kelce, who only had four catches for 30 yards in Atlanta, could be seen rubbing his right eye before staring into space despondently as he sat on the bench at the end of the first half.  The reigning Super Bowl champions defeated the Atlanta Falcons 22-17 to extend their start to the season to 3-0.

Despite his team winning, Kelce has endured an underwhelming opening few weeks.  And during last night’s game, fans felt that the tight end, 34, looked solemn on the sidelines.  After achieving just four catches for 30 yards, Kelce could be seen rubbing his eye and staring off into space.

With the three-time Super Bowl champion not looking his usual jovial self, several fans expressed concerns on social media.  “Free Travis Kelce man,” one wrote.  “I don’t understand why Pat isn’t targeting him because he has been open 3 times,” a second moaned.  “What happened to him???” another asked.

Others pointed to the fact that Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift was not in attendance.  Swift, 34, had been at her man’s first two games of the season.  But having spent the weekend in New York, the superstar musician missed Kelce and Co’s trip to Atlanta.  With Kelce looking miserable during Swift’s absence, fans had plenty to say.

One wrote on X, “His gf isn’t here. If she was here then he would’ve played better. But what do I know.”  And a second commented: “He’s been Swifted.”  A third joked, “There’s a double album of material coming from this. I can feel it.” “This is it for him man,” another added.   Following the Chiefs’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals last week, Kelce, had fired a warning at his teammates.

“At the end of the day, man, you can’t put it in the refs’ hands that late in the game,” the tight end said on his New Heights podcast. “And that’s for both of us, both sides of the ball.  “Obviously, you want to play physical and you want to make sure you make that play but if you’re going to put it in the refs’ hands, you’re playing with fire.  “It is what it is. You’re just playing with fire, man. That’s why as an offense, we’ve got to make sure we don’t put ourselves in a position where we have to score at the end of the game.”  The Chiefs will be back in action this Sunday, when they take on the Chargers in Los Angeles.
