CRIS Collinsworth seemingly jinxed Patrick Mahomes moments before disaster against the Houston Texans.  The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their seventh defeat in 13 games this season on Sunday.

Deep into the fourth quarter, the Chiefs’ quarterback had a chance to fire his team up the field as they were fourth and down.

A good throw and catch would have given the home team a chance to level the scores, as they were 17-10 down at that point.

Collinsworth backed the star as he said, “I have just seen Mahomes too many times in these situations.  “This game is anywhere close to over right now.”

Mahomes nailed his throw to Travis Kelce but the tight end fumbled the catch and the ball with intercepted by the Texans for the third time in the game.

Fans could not believe the “cursed” moment as they reacted on social media.  One posted: “Cris Collinsworth said he refuses to believe the game is over and Mahomes immediately threw his 3rd INT of the game.”

A second wrote: “Well, Mahomes quickly took care of THAT notion.”  A third commented: “Commentators curse!”

A fourth said: “Collinsworth also said they he believes the chiefs still have a shot to win the Super Bowl haha.”  Another added: “Collinsworth being wrong AND it being Kelce to drop it?! 10/10.”

The failed play stopped any chance of the Chiefs being able to get themselves back into he contest against the Texans.

Ka’imi Fairbairn even fired over a field goal with 30 seconds left on the clock to extend the visitors’ lead to ten points.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was asked about the team’s season after the game, which has left them with just a 15 percent chance of making it to the postseason.

He remained defiant, he said: “Listen, it’s never over. You keep battling.  “I’ve been doing this a long time (and) seen some things, so you keep going.

“We know the chances are getting lower and lower, but I know the guys on this team are going to give everything they have every opportunity they get.

“You’re just getting late in the season, and you’re not going to get these opportunities back.  “That’s a good team, but we had chances. We didn’t execute at the right time to win it.”

The Chiefs are back in action on December 14 as they host the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium.
