Donna Kelce confirms new career venture as she joins Chiefs coach Andy Reid after success of sons Travis and Jason
Donna Kelce, 71, has announced she will be appearing alongside Tyler Hynes and Hunter King in the upcoming Christmas movie, Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.
Donna Kelce confirmed the news on Instagram
It was revealed by Donna in a joint Instagram post with Hallmark Channel that she will have a role in the film. She will play the manager of Kansas City BBQ Restaurant Norma & Nic’s in the love story.
“Look who’s joining @hunterking and @tyler_hynes in #HolidayTouchdown: A @Chiefs Love Story!” the post read. “Please welcome America’s football mom @donnakelce to the cast. Don’t miss the world premiere later this year during #CountdownToChristmas.
Fans were quick to react with delight to this new development.
“Mama Kelce has joined the cast and I’m even more excited,” one fan said.
“Oh my gosh!! I’m so pumped! Hey mama Kelce!” another fan posted.
“Making my nachos and dips now,” a third fan commented.
It was revealed last month that King, 30, will star as Alana, a Chiefs superfan who becomes a finalist in the team’s “Fan of the Year” contest. Hynes, 38, will play Derrick, the Chiefs’ Director of Fan Engagement whose job is to determine Alana’s family’s level of dedication to the Chiefs – and he falls for Alana in the process.
And Chiefs fan will be well served by some cameo appearances from well-known faces. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and players Trey Smith, Mecole Hardman, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, George Karlaftis will also be in the movie.
Jason Kelce retired from the NFL earlier this year after 13 brilliant seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Travis Kelce is still very much going with the Chiefs, recently signing a two-year contract extension worth $34.5 million over the next two years. The tight end has been part of the Chiefs success that has become a dynasty, with the team winning three Super Bowls in the last five seasons.
And his name has been more in the news than ever before since starting a relationship with singing icon Taylor Swift. Donna admits the family’s heightened fame is something that’s needed getting used to. “It’s been a ride. That’s for sure,” she said.
Sometimes I feel I’m on some kind of a different planet. I’m like, ‘What has my life become?’ “It’s fun being recognized. Most everyone is pretty respectful and very positive.”
