The highly anticipated World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays came to a dramatic conclusion, culminating in the Dodgers’ consecutive crowning and celebrations that will not stop for many days. However, beyond baseball, the outcome of the series became the perfect setting for an epic trolling aimed at Toronto’s famous rapper, Drake.

The artist, known for his fervent support of his hometown teams, had unleashed a wave of comments at the start of the series. When the Blue Jays took a 3-2 lead, Drake used his Instagram stories to mock Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani. First, he posted a photo of Ohtani with the message: “One more win!” and then added another image of Ohtani swinging and missing a pitch, accompanied by the comment: “Savage is already on his way to the dugout, boss, hahaha.”

Drake trolled after Dodgers World Series win

The mockery proved to be premature and counterproductive. Although Toronto was only three outs away from victory in the decisive Game 7, the Dodgers staged a spectacular comeback to win the championship 5-4.

The Dodgers’ celebration was not long in coming with an extra dose of sarcasm. Fox Sports launched a subtle but devastating troll that linked the Dodgers’ victory to the infamous rivalry between Drake and Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Fox Sports posted an image of Lamar Jackson (in a montage) enjoying the Commissioner’s Cup, while leaving Drake symbolically “behind on the field”, and crowned the blow with the text: “They are not like us” (a direct reference to Lamar’s viral hit).

The crazy celebration of Dodgers fans after winning the World Series

After the victory over the Blue Jays, the Dodgers made history by becoming back-to-back World Series champions, an event of great impact and one that has players and fans celebrating non-stop in the streets of Los Angeles.

After a dramatic series that was decided in the 11th inning of the seventh game, the Shohei Ohtani-led team made history once again and consolidated their dominance by winning title after title. Although the duel took place in Toronto, the thousands of Dodgers fans had no trouble celebrating in the streets of Los Angeles.

Dodgers fans took to the bars and also the streets of Los Angeles to celebrate a historic victory that will probably have them celebrating for several more days, waiting to be able to do so with the players when they return to the city.
