FORMER Philadelphia Eagles star Shaun Bradley is returning to the football field after missing the 2023 season with injury.

Bradley, 27, saw his season come to a heartbreaking end last year after he tore his achilles tendon in a pre-season game against the Baltimore Ravens.

injured bradley Bradley saw his 2023 season end before it had even begun with an achilles injury in a pre-season friendly against the Baltimore Ravens

Over a year after that day and Bradley has made his return to the NFL, landing a deal on the Houston Texans practice squad.  Bradley was signed to the Texans practice squad on Wednesday having reportedly worked out for the side last week.  The linebacker is also understood to have worked out with the Jacksonville Jaguars back in August to kickstart his return to the field.

Bradley was a sixth round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and went as the 196th overall pick.  While his time with the Eagles saw him operate mostly as a core special teams player.  During his three-year stint in Philadelphia he played 45 games, but only managed one start in the 2021 season.  And his final season with the Eagles before injury saw him play the majority of the special teams snaps.

Bradley played his college football with Temple where he was one of their defensive stars.   Now he has been given the opportunity to earn himself a spot back on an NFL roster should he prove he can return to fitness after last year’s horror injury.   The former Bird will be hoping that he can secure one of the 53 spots at the Texans in the near future.  Back in 2023, after his injury forced him out for the season, Bradley claimed he has been “beating the odds my entire life”, vowing he would come back stronger than ever.

On Instagram he wrote: “Thank you to everyone who has reached out an kept me in their prayers, It was needed.  “Not how I wanted the season to end for me, but I believe that God truly does give his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.  “I’ve been beating the odds my entire life, I’m not even supposed to be here.  “Just another chapter in my story. I will be back better than I ever was, I can promise that. It isn’t about who bleeds first, it’s about who’s standing last”.  Now Bradley will be hoping he can beat the odds once again to force his way onto the Texans’ 53-man roster.
