Jalen Carter has been receiving very hateful DMs on Instagram following his tackle that led to Jordan Love getting injured
Unacceptable: Jalen Carter receives death threats after Jordan Love’s injury
Green Bay Packers fans covered their eyes in horror when their star quarterback, Jordan Love, went down injured after being sacked by Jalen Carter but shockingly some took it further by sending the Philadelphia Eagles’ player death threats. The incident took place in Week 1 of the 2024/25 NFL season with a twist as the league headed to the South American nation of Brazil as part of its global initiative strategy to grow the sport and it had some excellent drama.
The Eagles, who were Super Bowl runners-up in 2023, defeated the Packers 34-29 at the Corinthian Arena in Sao Paulo but the real story came when the $220m dollars Love went down injured in the latter stages of the match. Fortunately, he did manage to recover and was even put back into the game with six seconds on the clock to try to rescue the score for the Packers only to then be struck by a very cruel fate when the star was sacked by Carter and Josh Sweat.

Love’s knee could be seen popping out in what could be a long-term injury for the Packers as part of bad fortune in a typical NFL play, after all it is a contact sport known for injuries, but some fans were far from impressed and sent Carter death threats. It was revealed when Carter posted a photo of the incident of death threats in his DMs to Instagram with the caption, “Making a football play, wishing Jordan the best recovery!”
There are at least nine messages abusing the Eagles’ defensive tackle and one even includes racial abuse by calling him a n***er, but for the moment the athlete has seemed to shrug if off and intends to rise above the noise.
Will Jordan Love play in the next Packers game?
The Packers will welcome the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, September 15 to Lambeau Field in Week 2 with the game scheduled to start at 13:00 ET/11:00 PT but there are question marks about whether Love will play. Love’s injury could be an MCL/ACL issue and that has the potential to take him off the board for the entire 2024/25 season. But if it is an ankle sprain, and it appears as though it could be, his absence will be short term although he will be unlikely to play on September 15 and wouldn’t be worth the risk.
