Last Friday, the Philadelphia Eagles received their Super Bowl rings. Fans immediately noticed that Jalen Hurts refused to wear his new jewelry.

Hurts was exceptional in Super Bowl LIX, completing 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He also torched the Kansas City Chiefs on the ground, rushing for 72 yards and a touchdown. With that said, it wasn’t a surprise to see him named Super Bowl MVP.

“God is good – even in the highs and the lows,” Hurts said after winning the Super Bowl. “Couldn’t be here without my teammates. The effort, the determination everybody displayed to get to this point. It’s never been about what any one of us does, it’s always been about what we do and how we’re responding to certain things. Hell of a game today.”

Even though Hurts earned the right to wear his Super Bowl ring, he has decided to keep it tucked away for now.

While at training camp on Wednesday afternoon, Hurts was asked why he didn’t wear his Super Bowl ring at last week’s ceremony. His response was pretty epic.

“I’ve moved on to the new year,” Hurts told reporters. “It’s as simple as that.”

HURT IN WHITE

Hurts has made it very clear over the years that he’s not interested in being flashy. All he cares about is winning.

Last week, ESPN ranked Hurts as the No. 9 quarterback in the NFL. To the surprise of absolutely no one, he’s not bothered by that ranking.

“I’m just focused on being the best that I can be,” Hurts said, via PennLive.

The Eagles will begin their 2025 season on Sept. 4 against the Dallas Cowboys.
