Jalen Hurts smiles, the Philadelphia Eagles reached an agreement with a very important piece of the offense

The good news keeps coming for the Philadelphia Eagles. After securing their second Super Bowl in franchise history with an impressive victory over the Kansas City Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes, the team coached by Nick Sirianni has reached an agreement with one of the most important members of the team. All-Pro offensive lineman Lane Johnson has officially renewed for the fifth time with the team, now with a one-year extension that will keep him with the current champions until the 2027 season.

The Eagles restructured Lane Johnson’s contract, extending it by one more year, and he will now receive $48 million over the next two years, with $40 million fully guaranteed-something that is undoubtedly deserved for a player who has been incredibly consistent in the NFL, especially with Philadelphia.

Lane was selected in the first round of the 2013 draft and has become a solid, almost permanent starter throughout his career in the league. He has been a five-time All-Pro, a six-time Pro Bowl selection, and most importantly, he has two Super Bowl rings-one won in 2017 against the Patriots and the most recent one against the Chiefs.
The 2024 season was spectacular for Lane Johnson and the entire offensive line of the Eagles
Philadelphia dominated the ground game, which was impressive with Saquon Barkley, who surpassed 2,000 rushing yards in the regular season, thanks to a line that was simply perfect with Johnson, Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, among others.

In the playoffs, the Eagles scored 145 points, including 55 in the NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders and 40 in the Super Bowl LIX victory over the Chiefs. Finally, according to Pro Football Focus, Lane Johnson was among the best right tackles in the NFL in pass protection grading (88.1), meaning Jalen Hurts will continue to have a strong element to protect him in the coming years.
