Justin Bieber and Wife Hailey Kept a Special Family Tradition with New Baby’s Name
Justin and Hailey Bieber are keeping their family name alive! On Friday, Aug. 23, the couple announced the arrival of their baby boy, Jack Blues Bieber — continuing a sweet Bieber family tradition of naming him with the initials ‘JB.’ “WELCOME HOME JACK BLUES BIEBER,” Juston, 30, wrote in a post on Instagram while sharing a close-up shot of the baby’s foot. Hailey, 27, reshared the post on her Instagram Stories as she added a bear and blue heart emoji.
The family tradition of naming their son with the initials ‘JB’ is one that has continued in Justin’s side of the family for a couple of generations now, as the singer has the same initials, along with his dad, Jeremy Bieber, and some of his siblings.
Justin’s half-sister Jazmyn Bieber, 16, and half-brother, Jaxon Bieber, 14, also have the same initials. Both siblings are the children of Jeremy and his ex Erin Wagner. The singer also named his son Jack after his father’s middle name in another sentimental tribute. Justin’s dad Jeremy and mom Pattie Mallette, split a few months before he was born in 1994.

After announcing the arrival of his son, Justin’s mom Pattie tweeted, “CONGRATULATIONS @justinbieber & Hailey. I LOVE YOU FOREVER BABY JACK!!” Hailey’s dad, Stephen Baldwin, reshared Mallette’s tweet, adding, “Amen, Congratulations to you and may God continue to bless our family.”
Justin and Hailey revealed they were expecting a child together in May. A rep for Hailley confirmed to PEOPLE that the model was just over six months pregnant at the time of the announcement. The couple first tied the knot in a New York City courthouse in September 2018. The pair then celebrated with a larger ceremony with family and friends, in Bluffton, South Carolina.
Speaking to W Magazine in a recent interview, Hailey said keeping her pregnancy under wraps came with emotional challenges. “I probably could have hid it until the end,” the supermodel told the outlet. Hailey added that she “didn’t enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly” and “I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn’t feel good … I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life.”
Prior to the arrival of their baby boy, Justin shared a romantic post featuring images with his pregnant wife on Aug. 3. The two-time Grammy winner was seen in photos in his carousel embracing and kissing Hailey as she wore a form-fitting red mini dress highlighting her blossoming baby bump.
