Kylie Kelce has revealed the ridiculous item her brother-in-law, Travis, bought with his first NFL paycheck.

Before earning more than $76 million in NFL salary over his first 11 seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end made some extravagant – and potentially irresponsible – financial decisions when he got his first signing bonus.

Speaking on 94WIP in Philadelphia, Kylie revealed that Travis raved over buying a pair of Marty McFly shoes – the same worn by Michael J. Fox in Back To The Future II. This led to older brother Jason to tell him off during Travis’ visit to the City of Brotherly Love that year.

‘Early on when we were dating, Travis came into town, I think with the Marty McFly shoes,’ Kylie recalled.

‘I didn’t have the chance to meet Travis that time but Jason told me, after the fact, how much of a hard time he gave Travis after Travis divulged how much he spent on the shoes. It’s warranted.’

The pair of shoes, based on the movie ‘Back to the Future II’ is currently listed at $38,500 on StockX. Kelce also parlayed the footwear with a Rolex watch.

The exact price Kelce paid for them remains a mystery.

However, his purchase came when Nike auctioned 1,500 pairs of the model on eBay to raise funds for the Michael J Fox Foundation.

As for his own rookie contract, Travis revealed some details three years earlier.

Speaking on their New Heights Podcast in 2021, Travis recalled: ‘I was slotted in the first pick of the third round to get around $800k, so I ended up receiving around $500k to $600k, after taxes and everything.’

Travis also described the feeling he had while wearing the collectibles.

‘I was walking into this empty apartment with Marty McFlys on and a Rolex,’ he said. ‘I felt like I was the coolest guy in the world.’

‘I’d always wanted those shoes, I’d always been a big Nike guy and watching Back To The Future so many frickin’ times and seeing what the Nikes would look like in the future and the fact they were anti-gravity and self-tying.’

Jason responded: ‘Somebody told me you had bought those shoes and I looked up how much they were and remember being like ”What the f***, Travis?”’

Over a decade after getting drafted, Kelce has proven his worth and earned a two-year, $34.25M contract to stay with the Chiefs this offseason.

Still, Kylie remains adamant about the recklessness of his first purchase.

‘They’re so cool but he deserved a little flack for that one.’
