Mahomes and his mom gets a special shout-out from Hunt’s family on IG
Just like every year, thousands flocked to see the Texas Rose Festival in Tyler, Texas, and a very special person was in attendance. You might know by now, but Clark Hunt’s wife, Tavia Hunt graced the festival “as the Ladies Luncheon speaker to talk Faith, Family, & Football,” among many other things. She had a special message for Patrick Mahomes and his mother Randi Mahomes as well.
It also happens that the Kansas City Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt also attended the 91st Texas Rose Festival and as usual, the mother-daughter duo looked stunning. But most importantly, the duo was thankful for the opportunity to embrace the Chiefs fans who hail from Tyler, Texas, a place where 3x Super Bowl winner happens to belong.
Mahomes and his mom get a special shoutout
Tavia Hunt’s recent Instagram post is titled, “I’m still amazed at the fanfare and festivities at the Texas Tyler Rose Festival! Thank you for having me as the Ladies Luncheon speaker to talk Faith, Family, & Football—and a little pageantry!” and is full of amazing photos that caught the essence of the event. Elegance seems to be one of those essences.

There she sat with Shelly Slater, the interviewer, who happens to be “the absolute best.” Mrs. Hunt also thanked the hospitality that she received from the festival crew but most importantly, was appalled with the love that her team and the Texas Rose Festival get from the people of Tyler.
She continued with the post, saying, “Thank you to the lovely, kind people of Tyler showing me why Tyler is the treasure of Texas. 🌹💛” and later had a special message for Patrick Mahomes and his mother. It’s because of the Chiefs mother-son duo that Tavia Hunt thinks people of Tyler love the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Thanks Randi & Patrick for making them Chiefs fans! 🙌🏼,” her IG post further read. She took photos with many people, but nothing could be more special to Chiefs fans than seeing Tavia Hunt pose for a photo with Randi Mahomes. Dressed in all red, their smiles made the photo even more striking.
The photo also seems to have the 4 Lombardi Trophies in the background. Even Mrs. Hunt thought of switching it up. She wore a red dress in the rest of the photos. Randi Mahomes reciprocated the same emotions as Tavia Hunt. She commented in the post saying, “Thank you for all you do! Your dedication to your faith, family, and of course football is inspiring❤️” Tavia Hunt didn’t get invited to the Texas Rose Festival on a whim. There’s a touching history behind the festival.
Tavia Hunt is carrying a tradition that goes back 10 decades
The significance of this festival made even more sense when we got to know what it was all about. It’s the 91 edition of the festival. And, it attracts thousands of people from all across the country to witness three days of festivities. It’s more than just a grand parade, or an exhibition, or a Queen’s tea.
Liz Ballard, the executive director explained it in the best possible manner. “We are so honored and blessed to have her come from Kansas City to be with us today,” Ballard said. “The family lineage going back to 1935 when Margaret Hunt was our queen. There’s a long legacy of history attached to this family so we’re honored to have her here today.”
