MOTHER’S LOVE: Emotional Patrick Mahomes’ mom reacts to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s devastating ACL injury with simple message

PATRICK Mahomes’ mom has reacted to the Kansas City Chiefs star’s brutal injury.  Mahomes‘ mom has sent a simple message after the 30-year-old tore his ACL.

She has taken to social media after the Chiefs‘ quarterback suffered the injury during their 16-13 defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Quarterback Mahomes has been ruled out for the rest of the 2025 season after it was confirmed that he tore his ACL.  The quarterback broke his silence after the game and has vowed to come back stronger.  Now his mother has weighed in on X.

The 49-year-old Randi shared her son’s post with two emojis added.  She shared a red heart and the praying hands emojis.

Mahomes’ mom has previously admitted that she still worries about the quarterback’s health every time that she watches him play football.

Now her fears have come true with Mahomes set for a race against time to be ready for the start of the 2026 NFL season.  The Chiefs have been unceremoniously dumped out of playoff contention following their loss to the Chargers.

It is a stark contrast to their 2024 campaign where they reached Super Bowl LIX.  They have claimed just six wins from 14 games so far in 2025.  This marks the franchise’s worst season in over a decade.

It is also the first time that Mahomes has failed to lead the Chiefs to the top of the AFC West since becoming a starter in 2018.  Quarterback Mahomes was sent for a second opinion on his injury from Dallas Cowboys physician Dr. Dan Cooper

But he has since undergone surgery to repair his injured ACL.  A nine-month recovery window is typical for an injury like Mahomes’.  Gardner Minshew, 29, is set to take over as the Chiefs’ starter with Chris Oladokun, 28, expected to be called up from the practice squad.  The Chiefs are set to face the 2-12 Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
