New Orleans Saints star Taysom Hill emotionally fights back tears as he discusses possible end of NFL career

NEW Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill fought back tears as he reflected on what could have been his final game at Caesars Superdome.

The 35-year-old’s contract expires next year, meaning he is expected to become a free agent.  He played his final home game of the 2025 season when the Saints cruised to a 29-6 win over the New York Jets on Sunday.

And given his current status, it could have been his last-ever game for New Orleans at the stadium.  Reflecting on the occasion, Hill became emotional as he discussed coming to terms with ending his nine-year spell with the team.

He said, “My wife asked me that this morning and I didn’t really feel any type of way this morning, but as I was driving to the stadium today, you start to think about the last nine years, and what it’s meant to me and my family and this city.

Hill played what is likely to be his last home game as a Saints player on Sunday

“I think for me personally you just try to take it all in. I’ve had a great experience here tonight. I don’t know what the future holds for me but it was a special day for me and my family.”  Hill went on to reveal that his whole family was at Caesars Superdome for his potential final home game as a Saints player.

He continued, “We got a lot of family here today. My entire family’s here for the game, so it was fun to have them here and feel a lot of love and support from people around me.  “Moments like these cause me to be reflective.

“My overall feeling is one of gratitude. This organization, this city, has been so good to me.”  Hill joined the New Orleans Saints in 2017 after being claimed off waivers.  The Saints have a record of 5-10 this season.

They next face the Tennessee Titans on Sunday before taking on the Atlanta Falcons in the final game of the regular season.
