Patrick Mahomes ‘forgives’ his father despite his troubles with the law with an adorable gesture
In an alternative universe, Patrick Mahomes might be a pitcher for the Kansas City Royals as he revealed his first childhood game was the baseball sport his father played, seemingly hinting he will stand by his dad despite Mahomes Sr.’s legal troubles. The ex-MLB star, who played for the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins, is currently in a legal battle concerning a third DUI charge and has been summoned to court in Tyler, Texas, to answer for himself.
Facing a 10-year probation plea deal sentence for the man who pleaded guilty to the same charge in 2018 too, the next court hearing is scheduled for July 22 where he could find out the fate of his actions, in which blood alcohol concentration showed him to be almost three times above the legal limit for Texas. But the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, who became a triple Super Bowl champion in February, seems as though he will stand by his dad no matter what as he reposted a photo of he and his dad on X.com, formerly known as Twitter.
In the photo, his dad, who was at the Twins at the time, is carrying him as an infant in Twins’ gear with a toy baseball bat as the future NFL star appears to be looking at the floor curiously, seemingly suggesting that no matter what, they’ll always be father and son.

Of course, being two athletes, Mahomes Jr. does inherit a lot of qualities from his dad that he will have been able to translate to professional sports, despite baseball and football being two very different disciplines. One of those things was his work ethic and drive to be better as Mahomes Sr. admitted they do not have natural athletic bodies, so they had to work a little harder than those around them to get ripped into shape.
“Patrick works really hard, he’s at the gym all the time, he works out three times a week,” Mahomes Sr. said on CNN This Morning. “He’s unfortunate, he got that from me too, that’s in his DNA. “We just don’t get the muscles like DK Metcalf and some of the guys who are built like rocks and statues. We’ve just got this natural ‘dad bod’ and, hey, we’re representing.”
