Patrick Mahomes hands Travis Kelce new nickname after stellar performance against Texans

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has dubbed his teammate and star tight end, Travis Kelce, with a new nickname following his remarkable showing in the Chiefs’ 23-14 victory over the Houston Texans.  Kelce’s performance not only helped the Chiefs secure their spot in the AFC Championship Game but also underscored his reputation as one of the NFL’s most clutch postseason players.

Kelce, 35, racked up a season-best 117 receiving yards and one touchdown from seven receptions, putting on a show for fans, including his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who was present at Arrowhead Stadium.  His exceptional performance further solidified his status as a go-to player in high-pressure situations.

After the game, Mahomes didn’t hold back in praising Kelce for his ability to shine during critical moments.  “Big-time players make big-time plays in big-time games,” Mahomes said. “This is Playoff Trav. He’s a leader, man.  “This is what he lives for, is playing in these moments, having the chance to make big-time plays. He goes out there and does that, and it seems like he does it in every single playoff game.”

The nickname “Playoff Trav” reflects Kelce’s consistent ability to deliver when it matters most, and his latest outing against the Texans was no exception.

Kelce Sets Another NFL Record
