Isn’t this insane? Patrick Mahomes is the only under-30 QB in NFL history to start in five Super Bowls. Crazy, right? But more fascinating than that is, Mahomes and Co. are attempting an unprecedented feat in the NFL history- a three-peat. So far in the league history, a three-peat has been attempted eight times, but no team has been able to catch it. The Chiefs have a golden chance to engrave their name in the history of football. So, their Super Bowl showdown is only one and a half weeks away against the Eagles. But as the strategy-building started for the D-day, the Chiefs QB opened too much.

Patrick Mahomes gave a comprehensive answer to whether or not to start fast in the Super Bowl game. The Chiefs #15 said, “Not just start fast, but be consistent throughout the game. We’ve played a lot of good teams in the Super Bowl… If we can start fast that’d help, so we don’t have to have a fourth-quarter comeback… However, you’ve got to get a win, you get a win.” That’s a strong strategy, to beat the mighty defense squad of the Eagles. But hasn’t he opened his cards?

Well, if that’s the strategy Mahomes is working on, then he really needs to excel there. Throughout the regular season, the Chiefs won in the final moments of the last quarter. Even in the AFC championship, they won 32-29, thanks to Harrison Butker’s 35-yard field goal after the scores tied at 29-29. In fact, Andy Reid has talked about the serious issue of the Eagles’ defense.

The 66-year-old head coach was on Colin Cowherd’s show on Wednesday where the host asked him about the Eagles’ defense. And Reid said, “Their skill position and their D-line uh jumps out at you. They’ve got great skills. They’ve got a quarterback that can deal with it. Their offensive line is strong. They’ve been banged, they were banged up a little bit. But they’re strong. And then that D line in their speed on the second level the linebacker level and in the back end with the secondary shows up.” Absolutely, the Eagles have a killer defense, and who would identify this fact other than the genius of Andy Reid?

The Eagles have Zack Baun, Reed Blankenship, Oren Burks, Nolan Smith, Cooper DeJean, and other strong players on their D-line. To talk about only Baun, he is 2nd in the solo tackles in the entire league right now. Besides this, the whole football world has seen in the NFC Conference championship how the Eagles pummeled the Commanders in the first quarter itself. That’s why Patrick Mahomes‘ strategy to start the game fast is crucial.

But as the Chiefs-Eagles Super Bowl showdown is coming closer, Nick Sirianni is genuinely concerned with one controversial rule in the NFL. Wanna know what the rule and what is Sirianni’s take on that is? Let’s dive.

Nick Sirianni concerned with the NFL’s controversial rule

Well, fans must have seen how the Washington Commanders players were trying to score points by pushing the opponent’s tush and jumping on the offside. So, in the middle of the game, referees entered to inform the Commanders that the opponent team could be rewarded with a touchdown if they continued doing that.

On this issue, the Eagles HC said that he had a conversation with the refs. Sirianni told reporters: “I said to the referees on the sideline, ‘They keep doing this, it can be a touchdown, right?’ And they said yes.” He continued, “I was thinking about the safety and health of our players.” Actually, no NFL team in history has awarded a touchdown in this way. In fact, the tush push rule has been in history and it didn’t appear in the recent game. But the rule is there. It’s the brilliant mind of Sirianni that he informed referees about that to ensure his players are safe and the opponent plays clean football.

And as the Super Bowl is coming closer, taking care of such rules becomes important. The league is going through a lot of changes such as flopping, wrong calls, referees’ potential bias, etc. So, taking such points under consideration is worth it for the Super Bowl matchup. The Eagles must be ready to not have any controversial calls and blame the game on referees and opponent team players  But to set aside all this speculation and controversies, the Eagles are on the verge of winning their 2nd Super Bowl. The game is on February 9. And the Eagles must have not forgotten the SB LVII loss from Patrick Mahomes’s Chiefs.
