Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are heading to their third straight Super Bowl after a 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game.  Mahomes finished with 245 yards and a touchdown, as well as two rushing scores in the victory. Bills quarterback Josh Allen threw for 237 yards with two scores as neither QB threw an interception.

Once again, the Chiefs ended the Bills year. It was the second straight postseason and the fourth time in the last five years that the Chiefs sent the Bills home.  After the win, Mahomes posted a six-word message, coupled with #ChiefsKingdom, on his X account.

“I’ll see yall in New Orleans! #ChiefsKingdom.”

Mahomes spoke with CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson after the game ended in Kansas City:

“I’m just so proud of my teammates and how they responded, that was a great football team and I’m just lost for words. I’m excited for New Orleans,” Mahomes said.  It’s yet another Super Bowl trip for Mahomes. In total, this will be his fifth time going to the big game, and he has gone 3-1 in his career. However, the Chiefs are in search of that historic Super Bowl three-peat.  Super Bowl LIX will be in New Orleans at the Superdome on Feb. 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
