Patrick Mahomes, star of the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL, quietly expressed his gratitude that Donald Trump survived a horrifying shooting on Saturday, June 13, on social media to his 2.6 million followers.   Trump, aged 78, was on stage in an open rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when a 20-year-old gunman opened fire and shot multiple rounds at the right-wing politician who is running for the Oval Office in 2024.

Whilst one person died and another was injured, Trump managed to survive the encounter with superficial wounds and after a check over at the hospital, was given the all-clear and discharged later the same day.   Many people have poured in their relief at his survival of the incident including Barack Obama and his current presidential rival, Joe Biden, the latter slamming the shooting as “sick”, and the Chiefs’ quarterback is also glad to see he’s okay too.

Taking to X.com, formerly Twitter, the three-time Super Bowl champion reposted a tweet from Rich Eisen that read, “Thank you to the heroes of the Secret Service who threw themselves into what appeared to be a hail of bullets. Find whoever did this and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. None of this is OK. Praying for everyone there in Butler PA.”

So Mahomes calls for justice on top of his relief and that’s no surprise after the 28-year-old found himself in close proximity to a shooting during the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory parade in February 2024.   33 people were injured on that day by Kansas City Union Station in Missouri with one life lost as two adults were charged with murder along with a string of other offenses on what was supposed to be a celebratory day for the Chiefs Nation fans.

Mahomes announces new family

Patrick Mahomes’ family is set to grow through the upcoming NFL season as his wife, Brittany, announced she is pregnant with his third child on Friday, July 12.  The pair already have two children, named Sterling Skye who was born in 2021 and Patrick Lavon Jr., nicknamed Bronze, who was born in November 2022. The pair regularly feature on social media thanks to the immense pride their parents have in them.  As of yet, we don’t know the gender or any potential names for the latest addition to one of the most popular families in American sports.
