Photo: Eagles’ Jalen Hurts Announces Engagement to Girlfriend Bry Burrows

After leading the Philadelphia Eagles to victory in last week’s season opener, star quarterback Jalen Hurts scored another win off the field.  Hurts announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Bry Burrows on Friday ahead of Philadelphia’s Week 2 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons:

According to Victoria Uwumarogie of Essence, Hurts proposed to Burrows “a while ago when the two were on vacation before the start of the new NFL season.”

Hurts and Burrows first met while they were both students at the University of Alabama and dated on and off since then before going public with their relationship last year. Burrows appeared on the field with Hurts after he led the Eagles to victory in the NFC Championship Game in January 2023, and the two of them made their red carpet debut at the Time100 Next Gala last October.

The official announcement of their engagement comes a week after Burrows was seen wearing a ring while attending Philadelphia’s season opener against the Green Bay Packers in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which prompted some social media speculation that Hurts had popped the question.

Hurts told Essence for a May/June 2023 cover story that he knew Burrows would be an important part of his life for quite some time.  “I knew a long time ago,” he said. “I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling. I think that’s what allowed us to get to where we are now.”
