REID YOU LOUD AND CLEAR: ‘We do our thing’, Andy Reid in clear message to Buffalo Bills over ‘favorite’ fears

On Monday, Reid spoke to reporters and shared an opinion about the AFC Championship Game contest.  The three-time Super Bowl champion “presumed” that the Chiefs would enter the game as an underdog.  “The fact that we’re at home is a real positive. “We’ve got to play well. I presume the Bills will probably be favored, that’s all right,” Reid said in a Zoom call, per Fox 4 Kansas City’s Rob Collins.

“We do our thing as we go into this. We don’t worry about all that noise.”

“It’s a high level of football and you’ve got to handle it that way.  “You get to test yourself at close to the highest level. … I think that’s what it’s all about for coaches and players.”  Reid believed that the betting line favors the Bills, but that wouldn’t be the case.  The Chiefs, who entered the postseason as the No. 1 seed, opened as 1.5 favorites.

The line could change to favor Buffalo, the lone team to beat Kansas City’s starters during the regular season.  Still, the game will take place at Arrowhead – a key advantage for Patrick Mahomes and company.  Mahomes and the Chiefs are 3-0 against Josh Allen and the Bills squad.  Kansas City will be appearing in their seventh straight AFC title game.

They have won three Super Bowls in the last five seasons and are currently riding an eight-game winning streak in the playoffs.  The Chiefs haven’t lost a playoff game since the Cincinnati Bengals upset them during the 2021-22 postseason.  Kansas City is coming off a 23-14 victory over the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round.  Steve Spagnoulo’s defense sacked CJ Stroud eight times in the game.

And Travis Kelce recorded a season-high seven receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown.  Buffalo, meanwhile, beat the Baltimore Ravens narrowly by a score of 27-25.  The winner of the Chiefs-Bills contest will play the victor of the NFC Championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.
