In gymnastics, tuning out the noise is essential-when your body is on the line, focus can be a matter of survival. But when you’re Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, escaping the noise comes with an upgrade: think crystal-clear waters, endless ceviche, and a little sister ready to shake up social media.

The past few months haven’t been kind to Biles. A controversy involving her former teammate MyKayla Skinner thrust her into the middle of an alleged bullying scandal that even divided some of her most loyal fans. At the height of the storm, Biles deactivated her X (formerly Twitter) account and shared a pointed message on Instagram:  “Strength is what we gain from the madness we survive.”  Her choice for surviving the madness? A sun-soaked escape to Belize.

Simone Biles’ “deadly” (and delicious) escape

Biles has deep family roots in Belize through her mother, and she makes it a tradition to spend a week there every summer. But this year, her vacation got hilariously dramatic, thanks to her sister Adria.  Over the weekend, Adria posted a cheeky Instagram Story that had fans buzzing:  “There’s no way to make this look aesthetic. We’re gonna die.”

The caption appeared alongside a table stacked with ceviche, shot glasses of tequila, lemon wedges, and chili salt-a party setup if there ever was one.  She followed it up with a playful shoutout to Biles’ husband, NFL star Jonathan Owens:  “@jowens, coming to make sure you don’t eat all the ceviche & @simonebiles get your husband.”

Sun, salt, and sister vibes

With her social media back in action, Simone has been sharing snapshots from her getaway-featuring mouthwatering plates of seafood, grilled meats, and of course, tequila. One playful post teased:  “We’ll be ranking the best ceviche on the island at the end of the trip.”  No rankings have been posted yet-and honestly, who can blame her? Sometimes it’s better to enjoy the party than review the menu.  For now, the only thing Biles seems focused on is healing, relaxing, and laughing with her favorite people in paradise. And after everything? She’s earned it.
