The Indiana Fever have finally built some momentum, riding a four-game winning streak (their longest of the season) heading into the weekend. But to make it five in a row they’ll have to get through the Chicago Sky on the road on Sunday.

A Fever vs. Sky game also means it’s time for the latest installment in the league’s hottest new rivalry — Caitlin Clark versus Angel Reese. While Reese beat Clark when their teams met in the NCAA National Championship game back in 2023, 2024 has thus far belonged to Clark. She led the Iowa Hawkeyes to eliminate Reese’s LSU Tigers from the 2024 NCAA Tournament back in April and helped the Fever beat the Sky in their first two games this season.

But Reese has some momentum of her own, breaking the WNBA record for most consecutive double-doubles in a season with seven. She put up 16 points and a career-high 18 rebounds when the Sky beat the Dallas Wings 83-72 on Thursday.

FINAL: Sky 88 — Fever 87

In one of the best games of the season, the Sky hung on in the closing seconds for a dramatic one-point win to end the Fever’s four-game winning streak. The Sky battled back from a 15-point second-half deficit to secure the victory.

Angel Reese led the way with 25 points and 16 rebounds to record her eighth consecutive double-double and set a new career-high in scoring. She is also the first rookie with 25 points and 15 rebounds in a game since A’ja Wilson in 2018. Kamilla Cardoso added a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Chennedy Carter scored 23.

Caitlin Clark led the way for the Fever with 17 points, six rebounds, 13 assists and four steals, while Kelsey Mitchell went for 24 points and Aliyah Boston finished with 18 points, seve rebounds and six assists. The Fever shot just 5-of-16 from the field in the fourth quarter.

Boston keeps the Fever alive

Aliyah Boston just drained a 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining to cut the deficit down to one after it appeared the Sky were going to pull away for the win in the closing minutes. The Sky still have the upper hand, but they will have to make some free throws to close it out.

Clark setting records, Sky hanging around

Caitlin Clark already set a new career-high for assists, and she now has the Fever franchise record as well with 13. For the game, she’s up to 17 points, five rebounds and 13 assists, but despite her brilliance, the Sky are hanging around. Angel Reese has been getting to work inside, and Lindsay Allen is about to go to the line to try and convert a three-point play that would cut the deficit to seven.
